Garmin continues to build its browser nüvi series 7xx portableGPS with its nüvi 755T, which adds a number of practical routing and communication features to an already impressive list of specifications, including widescreen of 4.3 inches, text - to-speech capabilities, media player and FM transmitter for transmission of sound - including directions and MP3 music and audiobooks - from the device to your car radio. New to the nüvi 7X5 range of Garmin is HotFix satellite prediction (which locates your position quickly and precisely), Lane Assist (which provides lane guidance and junction views when possible), automatic time zone transition and 3D Building views as well as Garmin Connect Photos to help you visually ascertain your position. In addition, nüvi 755T includes free updates for real-time traffic from Navteq (for the life of the device) via the included GTM 20 traffic receiver. The bright, 4.3-inch touchscreen gives is anti-reflective coating for easy viewing during the day and automatically changes color profile for easy viewing at night or in low light. It offers 2D or 3D perspective views. A widescreen format gives you 70 percent more actual screen area of a screen of 3.5 inches. Primarily this translates into a better overview of the area through which you drive. This is particularly useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, petrol stations, etc. are nearby, or let you know whether a detour is a good idea. Moreover, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen is greater distance and somewhat easier to push.
Nüvi 755T comes preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator NT street maps from NAVTEQ for all U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. This map database features nearly six million points of interest (POIs), including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin's interface is a key element in their success and one of the things that makes their devices such a pleasure to use. Simple operation and sub-screens make it easy to enter or search for destinations and get information about your trip.
The patent-pending Garmin anti-theft system that disables the unit that performs all functions until the user writes a special 4-digit PIN or device to a predetermined level of information safe product location.Important: This unit has a lock "screen "function. This is standard on all nüvi 2x5 and 7X5 units from Garmin. If you drag the button "POWER" to the right, it will lock the screen and avoid inadvertent touches. When the lockout feature on the screen is filled, the screen will go black and gray after about 15 seconds to save power on the device. To unlock the screen, simply drag the "Power" button in the middle position. This feature is really targeted for the "pedestrian" mode, so a user can place the device in your pocket / bag and quickly lock your screen instead of turn on / off times.
